Veterinary Care

As a concerned, loving pet owner, you want your pet to receive the best care. Understanding your pet’s life stage is the foundation for personalized care. Regularly scheduled exams and vaccinations are a vital part of caring for your best friends. At Butte Oroville Veterinary Hospital, we recommend our vaccines on an individual basis because we know that every pet’s health, history, environment and exposure risk varies. We constantly keep our eyes open for safer, more effective treatments, medications, and protocols based on current findings.

Meet Our Doctors

Brittany Davis, DVM

J.P. Sevedge, DVM

Dr. Sevedge was raised in a small town in southern Ilinois. After graduating high school, he moved to Missoula, Montana where he attended the University of Montana. After attending UM, Dr. Sevedge was accepted into veterinary school at Colorado State University where he graduated in 1967. Dr. Sevedge spent most of his career practicing in a large referral specialty practice in West Los Angeles, but is now enjoying the finer things that come with small town living.

Paul Dent, DVM

Dr. Paul Dent grew up on a dairy and crop farm in Southern Illinois. He and his father raised Morgan and Arabian horses along with cats and dogs. He graduated from the University of Illinois Veterinary School in 1983 after obtaining a Masters Degree in reproduction physiology in Dairy Science. He has been a practicing veterinarian in California since 1983 and has been an Oroville resident since 1988. He has two cats, Chester and Spatz, and two dogs, Rosie and Kane. "The best part of veterinary medicine is seeing familiar, long-term clients and patients with whom I have developed a trusting and friendly relationship.", he says. Dr. Dent likes to maintain that "small town" bond with his patients and looks forward to meeting you and sharing his 30+ years of experience.
